Service Description

What are the signs and symptoms of a sinus infection? A stuffy or runny nose, a headache, sinus pressure, facial pain, post-nasal drip, bad breath, and coughing are all potential symptoms of a sinus infection. Sinus infection symptoms and COVID-19 symptoms can be similar. It is important to get a COVID-19 test if you have symptoms. Both infections are caused by viruses and can sometimes cause loss of smell or taste. Can you have a sinus infection without symptoms? Most sinus infections have symptoms similar to those of a cold. Will a sinus infection go away without treatment? Sinus infections caused by viruses generally resolve on their own within 10 days. Sinus infections caused by bacteria require antibiotics, which will be prescribed by a healthcare provider. Treatment for a sinus infection may include over-the-counter decongestants, nasal steroids, nasal saline to help flush out mucus, drinking plenty of fluids, and getting plenty of rest. Where should I have a sinus infection addressed? Sinus infections are generally diagnosed and treated in an urgent care or primary care clinic setting. Many cases can also be managed with a virtual appointment; however, if any testing is required, your provider will need to refer you to a clinic.
